KBR’s National Security Solutions (NSS) team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to the intelligence and national security communities. This position offers the opportunity to work on projects that significantly impact national security.

Position Title: Big Data Systems Engineer (Remote)

This is a nationwide, remote-capable position. You may work from one of KBR’s facilities or from home, provided you have a stable internet connection.

Responsibilities include:

• Deploying and integrating the Cloud Hybrid Edge-to-Enterprise Evaluation Test & Analysis Suite (CHEETAS) at multiple DoD ranges and labs.
• Collaborating with system administrators and software developers to resolve deployment issues.
• Deploying CHEETAS within diverse DoD environments, including those with no outside internet connectivity.
• Supporting the deployment of data analytic systems critical to national security.

Basic Qualifications:

• Active U.S. government TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Data Science, etc.) and 10 years of DoD experience.
• Experience with Hadoop, SQL Server Big Data Cluster, Kubernetes, Linux distributions, Windows Server, VMWare, etc.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in big data environments.

Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency in deploying and configuring big data tools in enterprise settings.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Over 10 years of experience in government/defense labs.
• Experience with DoD acquisition programs and cybersecurity policies.

Compensation and Benefits: $150,000 - $200,000, with benefits including 401K, health insurance, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
