AmeriCorps & Senior Corps is seeking a Recruitment Coordination VISTA to support Big Brothers Big Sisters in Fredericksburg, VA. This hybrid year of service will strengthen volunteer recruitment systems and expand community outreach through events and marketing efforts.

Ideal candidates bring experience with Canva, Microsoft Suite and social media, a drive to help youth, a valid Virginia driver's license, and at least a high school diploma or GED. Housing and education awards are provided.

Qualifications

Communications skills for outreach and messaging.
Ability to create and edit content for recruitment materials.
Experience coordinating volunteers or recruitment campaigns.

The Virginia Capacity Building Project supports Serve Virginia and their partners in alleviating the effects of poverty through organizational capacity building. While our project covers a wide range of issue areas, from substance use disorder to educational opportunities, all of our members are dedicated to increasing the impact and reach of volunteerism and to pursuing healthy futures for all Virginians. The efforts of our AmeriCorps members will help us build towards a healthier, happier, and stronger Commonwealth.

Member Duties

Serve your community through a year of service with AmeriCorps VISTA! In this hybrid position, the Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Fredericksburg Recruitment Coordination VISTA will build capacity by strengthening volunteer recruitment systems.

promoting service and volunteerism
attending in-person events to recruit volunteers
identifying marketing opportunities to reach potential volunteers

Applicants should have some experience using programs like Canva, Microsoft, and social media.
Applicants should be self-motivated and have a passion for helping find volunteer mentors for youth in the community.
Applicants must have a valid Virginia Driver’s license and vehicle insurance, or other means of reliable transportation.
Applicants should have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
