Job summary

USALCO is seeking a Staff Accountant to support financial operations and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP. You will prepare reports, perform reconciliations, and assist with payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and audits in a collaborative finance team.

This is a hybrid role based in Washington, DC, requiring bilingual English and Spanish. Ideal candidates have a bachelor's in accounting, 1–2+ years of experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and CPA pursuit is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or similar discipline.
• 1-2+ years of progressive accounting or audit experience, in public or industry.
• Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Excellent analytical, organization, and communication skills.
• CPA or actively pursuing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete monthly reconciliations with input from Senior Accountant & Controller.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Process payroll for employees, including collecting and verifying timesheet data, calculating wages, overtime, deductions, bonuses, and taxes according to federal, state, and local regulations.
• Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processing as needed.
• Assist in year-end and other audits.
• Assist the Tax Accountant with tax and regulatory filings as needed.
• Execute on corporate accounting calendar and reconciliation tracking.
