Job summary

Amazon Freight is building a new data-driven business, seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to deliver actionable insights through data mining, modeling, and visualization. The role focuses on turning complex datasets into clear metrics and opportunities for growth within a fast-paced startup environment.

You will work with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design dashboards, and ship analyses that influence strategic decisions and improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience.
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines.
• Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.
• Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab.
• 3+ years of experience using excel for deep dive and provide actionable insight to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Generate insightful analysis, reporting, and data visualizations to answer critical business questions, proactively identify notable trends, and communicate business performance
• Translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders while proactively identifying new areas of opportunity to drive further improvements
• Apply expertise in data mining and modeling leveraging multiple data sources to uncover unique insights, identify key performance drivers, and build predictive models
• Work backwards from your end-customer to define, design, and execute each work item with an emphasis on improved metrics, productivity, and efficiency
• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
