Job summary

Effy Jewelry seeks an experienced Data Engineer/BI Engineer to support revenue analytics in cruise retail. You will build and maintain data infrastructures and financial dashboards powering insights into sales, demographics, and inventory.

This full-time, onsite position is based at our NYC Headquarters, requiring five days on location. You will collaborate across teams to optimize data workflows and deliver data-driven strategies for retail operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering/IS/Analytics or related field.
• 3+ years of data engineering experience in retail or e-commerce.
• Strong Python and SQL; experience with distributed data systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and data lake/lakehouse architectures.
• Deep understanding of retail metrics (sales, inventory, SKU, loyalty).
• Must have valid work authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines from multiple sources (POS, e-commerce, ERP, CRM).
• Develop and maintain data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts (Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Integrate data from proprietary systems to refine semantic layers for data-driven strategies.
• Optimize data workflows and automate recurring data tasks for efficiency.
• Build and manage financial dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Looker; monitor usage and gather feedback.
• Maintain documentation of pipelines, schemas, and governance processes.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend retail-specific tools.
