Job summary

Medpace is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and maintain data platforms, pipelines, and AI-enabled solutions that power analytics, reporting, and AI agents across the business.

This full-time, office-based role in Cincinnati requires 5+ years in data engineering, Snowflake/dbt experience, Python, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable data solutions from design to deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Experience with Snowflake data warehouse and dbt transformations.
• Proficiency in Python and REST APIs.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Utilize data, AI, and development areas including data warehousing, BI, databases, AI agents (Snowflake, SQL Server, Azure, Python).
• Build and maintain data pipelines using ELT tools (dbt, Python, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory).
• Design and deploy AI-enabled solutions, including AI agents, LLM integrations, and data foundations.
• Collect, analyze, and document user requirements.
• Mentor team members and lead design and code reviews to raise data engineering standards.
• Create and enhance best practices for data across the enterprise.
• Architect solutions through the lifecycle: requirements, design, development, testing, release, maintenance.
• Monitor and optimize pipelines for reliability, data quality, performance, cost.
• Participate in software validation through test plans/cases/scripts.
• Use AI coding assistants and agentic development tools daily.
• Communicate with team members about projects, tools, procedures.
• Provide end-user support for applications released.
