Job summary

Merchants Fleet is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to bridge Enterprise IT/Data Architecture and Treasury. You will design, build, and optimize data infrastructure, pipelines, and reporting environments supporting financial operations and securitization modeling.

This role partners with finance stakeholders to deliver trusted data products and actionable insights. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in data engineering, advanced SQL, data modeling, and experience with financial data.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Analytics Engineer, preferably with financial data
• Advanced SQL skills: writing, debugging, and optimizing complex queries
• Experience designing data models and semantic layers for business users
• Strong understanding of data architecture, transformation, and integration principles
• Ability to communicate technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
• Knowledge of forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis in finance

Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance and Treasury to translate business needs into scalable data and reporting solutions
• Identify, integrate data from multiple systems for reporting and analytics
• Design scalable data models to support business decision-making
• Collaborate with engineers to source, transform, and integrate data
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across assets
• Document rules, definitions, metrics, and logic for transparency
• Support audits with clean datasets and traceable lineage
• Build automated data quality validation and monitoring processes
• Act as a trusted data partner to finance stakeholders
