Job summary

Whitaker Construction seeks a Business Intelligence Analyst to turn construction and business data into dashboards, reports, and insights. You will collaborate with field leaders, project managers, and office teams to deliver practical solutions using Power BI, SQL, automation, and analytics tools.

You will improve data quality, expand self-service analytics, and help bring practical AI solutions into the business, while supporting data governance and responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–5 years in BI, analytics, or reporting; construction helpful but not required.
• Hands-on Power BI: data modeling, DAX, refreshes, security, publishing.
• Working SQL: joins, views, transformations, dimensional modeling.
• Experience with ERP data, APIs and cloud services a plus.
• Familiarity with responsible AI concepts and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, scorecards, and data models.
• Translate business needs into clear requirements and metrics.
• Improve report performance, usability, security, and documentation.
• Handle ad hoc data requests and validate data from multiple systems.
• Create SQL queries, data transformations, APIs, and automated workflows.
• Monitor data refreshes and resolve integration issues with IT.
• Develop reusable data models and trusted data sources.
• Identify data quality issues and implement controls.
• Collaborate with data owners on terms, access, and retention.
• Support design, testing, launch, and adoption of BI solutions.
