Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring a BHUC Team Leader to coordinate services for individuals with MH/SA needs across residential, school and community settings. You will supervise staff, manage patient flow, and ensure timely crisis access while upholding high care standards.

The role requires extensive experience in behavioral health, a relevant degree or licensure, and strong communication with external providers and internal teams. On-site work in North Carolina is expected.

Qualifications

• May be required to be a Qualified Professional as defined by service requirements.
• Graduate with Master’s degree in human services and MH/DD/SA experience.
• Graduate with bachelor’s degree in human services with 2 years MH/DD/SA experience.
• Bachelor’s in non-human services field with 4 years MH/DD/SA experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shift operations and maintain access to behavioral health crisis services.
• Supervise multidisciplinary staff and coordinate care.
• Coordinate and monitor services per Person Centered Plan; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Facilitate care coordination, triage, and discharge planning across settings.

We are hiring for:

BHUC Team Leader

Serves as the primary contact and coordinator of services supporting individuals with Mental Health or Substance Use Issues in residential, school, workplace and community settings. Coordinates and monitors the array of services and supports identified in each person’s Person Centered Plan. Supervises and directs the work of others to provide quality services.

The BHUC Team Leader is responsible for overseeing shift operations, ensuring timely access to behavioral health crisis services, and maintaining high standards of care. This combined role leads and supervises multidisciplinary staff, manages patient flow, and supports crisis stabilization efforts, including direct care delivery, assessments, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support. The Team Leader facilitates communication with external providers and internal departments, monitors clinical documentation for compliance with regulatory standards, and ensures adherence to safety protocols. They oversee patient intake, triage, care coordination, discharge coordination to appropriate levels of care, and shift handoffs to maintain continuity of care.

Requirements:

May be required to be a Qualified Professional as defined by the service definition requirements . Qualified Professional is defined as an individual who is:

• (a) an individual who holds a license, provisional license, certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in MH/DD/SA with the population served; the QP function may be completed by a Certified Clinical Addiction Specialist (CCAS) or Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS);
• or (b) a graduate of a college or university with a Master’s degree in a human service field and has one year of full-time post-graduate degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served;
• or (c) a graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a human service field with two years of full-time, post-bachelor’s degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served; or
• (d) A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a field other than human services with four years of full-time, post-bachelor’s degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served. Must meet the education, experience, licensure/certification requirements specified by the service definition of the service being provided
• General working knowledge of the human services delivery system in North Carolina
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance,
• Employee supervisory experience preferred
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred

Pre-employment screening:

• Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
• Drug testing
• Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
• Proof of employment history or references (if required)
