Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking dedicated personnel to provide direct behavioral health patient care at UAB St. Vincent's East in Birmingham, AL. The role supports adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic mental health needs within a team-based care model focused on stabilization, recovery, and long-term wellness.

The position requires completing a BLS within 1 month of hire; CNA is preferred. Education options include high school equivalency with experience or an associate/technical degree

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 1 month of hire or transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Nurse Aide preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct behavioral health patient care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide or assist with direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
• Observe and record patient behavior and activities; report changes and adjust the treatment plan as needed.
• Establish a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients.

Our Behavioral Health services at UAB St. Vincent's East include 80 beds for adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic mental health needs. Job Description

Provide direct behavioral health patient care.

• Assist patients with performing activities of daily living.
• Provide or assist with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.

• Establish a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American HeartAssociation or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Nurse Aide preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative relevant experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
