Job summary

Distro, a leading beverage distribution company based in New Jersey, is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations. This hands-on leadership role focuses on financial reporting, internal controls, cash flow management, and process improvements in a fast-paced distribution setting.

The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, operational insight, and the ability to implement systems and reporting enhancements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a Controller or equivalent in a small to midsize business.
• Strong experience in distribution, beverage, or consumer goods industry.
• Hands-on with inventory and cost accounting.
• Experience with AR/AP, payroll, and cash flow management.
• Knowledge of NYS container deposit accounting and reporting.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including GL, AR, AP, inventory, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Coordinate with external CPA for tax filings and year-end review.
• Develop margin reporting by SKU, customer, and channel.
• Partner with operations to improve inventory controls and processes.
• Develop cash flow forecasts and manage liquidity.
• Support audit processes and internal controls.
