• 5+ years bartending experience.
• 3+ years beverage program development experience.
• Hold valid State-Mandated Alcohol Handlers Certification (where applicable).
• Hold a valid ServSafe Alcohol Certification, eTIPS Certification, ABC License.
• Able to travel up to 75% of the time.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Beverage Director at Ugly Dumpling, you will be responsible for running a new beverage program that will match the excellent dining experience we are dedicated to delivering. From menu design to drink creation, this individual is someone who can help elevate our brand and bring it to the next level. The ideal Beverage Director will be creative, hardworking, and trend savvy. This position is perfect for someone who loves interacting with people and thrives in a lively, fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assess and identify beverage training and development needs within the organization through job analysis, appraisals and/or frequent consultation with local management.
• Create, lead, and conduct training and beverage programs for employees of all levels across Ugly Dumpling.
• Assist in the development of training materials and processes with both the company’s requirements and employee needs taken into consideration
• Develop Franchise Partners, Managers, and staff in all aspects of the beverage program.
• Manage quality control and uphold service standards.
• Streamline bar sets up for speed and efficiency.
• Establish and maintain vendor and partner relationships.
• Learn and display proficiency and knowledge on all processes, tools or programs used by various departments at all locations.
• Facilitate training classes.
• Attend Pre-Shift meetings to educate managers and staff on limited time offerings.
• Spend time on the floor educating the staff on all beverage options.
• Drive beverage sales and profitability.
• Validate inventory, assess opportunity, and manage security.
• Periodically evaluate ongoing training programs to ensure that they reflect current policies and processes.
• Continually assess needs of the business to identify areas of opportunity.
• Continually evolve the beverage programs based on trends and feedback.
• Ensure that all projects are executed profitably and in compliance to standardized business practices.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in varying conditions, including heat, cold, and noise.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Functions:

• 5+ years bartending experience.
• 3+ years beverage program development experience.
• Hold a valid State-Mandated Alcohol Handlers Certification, ensuring compliance with local regulatory authority health and safety standards (where applicable).
• Hold a valid ServSafe Alcohol Certification, eTIPS Certification, ABC License.
• Able to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Strong beverage knowledge.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and beverage safety practices.
• Strong communication and a passion for delivering world-class service at every touchpoint.
• Work well under pressure.
• Level 1 Sommelier Certification is not required but preferred.
