Job summary

Irby Construction Company, a subsidiary of Quanta Services, seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, scheduling, and cost control for BESS projects in Texas. You will coordinate with field and engineering teams to ensure safety, quality, and on‑time delivery.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Project Managers, strong documentation, and experience in construction administration and renewables. Travel to job sites is required, with a focus on meeting project goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in construction administration, project coordination, or project management.
• Experience with BESS, renewable energy, or high‑voltage electrical construction projects is required.
• Strong understanding of OSHA and industry safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with BESS construction projects from start to finish, supporting accountability for technical quality and specification compliance.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, design documents, and technical specifications prior to project execution; assist with confirming that work is performed in accordance with those specifications.
• Identify discrepancies between design intent and field execution; coordinate with the Project Manager and engineering teams to resolve specification gaps and support corrective actions.
• Support project planning, budget tracking, and identification of resources needed; assist with team coordination and objectives.
• Assist with scheduling, coordinating, and documenting meetings including pre-construction and design review meetings.
• Support construction scheduling and work with the Project Manager to maintain baseline and trending schedules.
• Assist with developing daily work plans and assembling change requests.
• Track project costs, billings, and schedules; assist with evaluating cost vs. profit and reporting variances.
