Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources, LLC is seeking a Battery Technician to support the operations and maintenance of Battery Energy Storage Systems in Fort Morgan, CO. The role sits within the Renewable Operations & Integrations (ROI) team and emphasizes reliability, troubleshooting, and collaboration with operations and construction teams to ensure optimal performance.

Responsibilities include routine inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Grad / GED
• Experience: 1+ years
• Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

Responsibilities

• Battery Technician responsibilities: Conduct routine inspections of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to identify and address maintenance or performance issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including cleaning, replacing faulty components, and performing tests to ensure optimal system performance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose system failures, utilizing technical knowledge and monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with the operations team to implement and execute maintenance plans and procedures.
• Coordinate closely with the construction team during the installation and commissioning of new projects.
• Generate reports and maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and equipment conditions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all work activities.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in BESS technology and maintenance techniques.
• Site Technician responsibilities: Reliability engineering
• Warranty management
• Operation and basic maintenance
• Electrical and power electronics troubleshooting and repairs
• Safety and Environmental program stewardship
• Supervisory duties of NEE employees and contractors
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repairs
