Mercor seeks a native Bengali speaker for a rigorous data annotation role focused on Bengali documents. You will identify and bound every meaningful region, assign types and reading order, and ensure exact transcription in Bengali script across complex layouts.

You will also verify page content, capture metadata, and collaborate in end-to-end reviews to maintain high accuracy. Attention to detail and systematic taxonomy are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Native Bengali with full command of Bengali script and orthography.
• Experience with annotation, transcription, translation, localization, subtitling, proofreading, journalism, or regional-language data review.
• Character-level accuracy is essential; adherence to a consistent taxonomy.
• Comfortable with unfamiliar layouts like multi-column documents and handwritten content.

Responsabilités

• Open and check a task: verify Bengali content and legibility before annotating.
• Annotate structure by bounding meaningful regions and assigning types and reading order.
• Record relationships between regions and parent components.
• Transcribe faithfully in Bengali script, flagging illegible regions.
• Capture metadata and ensure review passes at first attempt.
• Review colleague work to ensure end-to-end quality.
