Job summary

The Citrus County Government is seeking a Benefits Coordinator based in Lecanto, FL. The role administers employee insurance and wellness benefits, ensuring regulatory compliance and serving as the main liaison between employees and benefit providers.

Responsibilities include open enrollment, carrier coordination, and benefits administration across medical, dental, vision, and wellness programs, with focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of progressive experience related to administration and coordination of employee benefits.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; strong communication and organization required.
• Experience with benefit programs, enrollment, and compliance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer employee benefit programs for the County, ensuring compliance and enrollment support.
• Serve as liaison to carriers, third-party administrators, and insurance brokers.
• Oversee Open Enrollment, COBRA, FSA/HSA, and wellness program activities.
• Coordinate with Florida Retirement System and maintain HRIS benefit data.
• Process benefit changes, enrollments, terminations, and eligibility reporting.
