Job summary

The Hartford is seeking an Underwriting Analyst to support regional and national accounts, focusing on pre-sale, renewals, plan changes, and reporting. This hybrid role includes collaboration with underwriters, data analysis, and pricing support across multiple benefit plans.

You'll review census data, apply plan designs to develop manual rates, maintain data integrity, and contribute to renewal summaries. A strong Excel/Office background and excellent communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ work experience; Employee Benefits experience a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex data clearly.
• Demonstrated time management and desk organization in a fast-paced environment.
• Curiosity and initiative to learn new tools and methods.

Responsibilities

• Supports Underwriters for Regional and National Accounts in pre-sales, renewals, plan changes, and reporting.
• Reviews RFPs and census data to create accurate ratings and pricing.
• Maintains accuracy targets (>=93%) and data integrity across census, premiums, and renewal notes.
• Uses pricing tools to develop formula rates and summarizes renewal information for the Underwriter.
