Job summary

Macmillan Publishers is seeking a Senior Manager, Benefits to define and drive the benefits strategy for a multi-site organization. This strategic role oversees vendor relationships, compliance, and governance while coaching the benefits team to ensure accurate, scalable execution.

The ideal candidate leads with analytics, benchmarks plans, and partners with internal teams to design competitive offerings. This remote-enabled role is tied to the New York office, with oversight of ongoing program

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in benefits management, spanning strategy/design and administration.
• Experience at a mid-to-large size employer.
• Ability to develop benefits strategy with market benchmarking and plan design for talent attraction/retention.
• Knowledge of benefits compliance and regulatory requirements; advise leadership on risk and mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Owns benefits strategy and execution at the organizational level; delegates day-to-day tasks.
• Lead vendor RFPs, selection, and contract negotiations.
• Oversee retirement plan governance, meetings, minutes, and records.
• Coach and manage the benefits administrator and coordinator; escalate complex eligibility or claims issues.
• Translate benefits data into actionable insights for senior leadership.
