Macmillan Publishers is seeking a Senior Manager, Benefits to define strategy, oversee administration, and lead a small team including a benefits administrator and a part-time coordinator. This is a remote role tied to the New York office, with governance of our benefits program and vendor relationships.

The ideal candidate excels at building repeatable processes and advising senior leadership on risk and compliance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in benefits management.
• Experience with benefits strategy, plan design, and administration.
• Knowledge of benefits compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• CEBS, CBP, or SHRM designations are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve benefits strategy to support talent attraction and retention.
• Partner with broker and internal Communications team on benefits branding and materials.
• Build and manage vendor relationships, RFPs, and contracts to align with goals.
• Coordinate governance for retirement plan oversight and record keeping.
• Monitor compliance and translate data into insights for leadership.
• Coach the benefits administrator and coordinator and delegate effectively.
• Lead Open Enrollment and wellness events and ensure responsive support.
• Implement automation with HRIS and benefits platforms.
