Copa Health is seeking a dedicated Benefits Specialist to help members navigate and maximize their benefits. You will verify demographics and insurance data, assist with Medicaid/Medicare applications, and coordinate with carriers to secure eligibility and benefits.

This role emphasizes accuracy, member relations, and compliance in a behavioral health setting. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least two years in a related role, and a fingerprint clearance card or eligibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Minimum of two years related experience.
• Experience in medical or behavioral health setting preferred.
• Fingerprint clearance card required or eligible within eight weeks of hire.
• TB Test clearance required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Verifies, ensures accuracy, and updates patient demographics and insurance information.
• Assist office assistants in maintaining accurate, up-to-date insurance verification.
• Use online verification systems and review real-time eligibility responses for accuracy of insurance eligibility.
• Collects and communicates necessary information with members' insurance carriers to obtain benefits and eligibility information.
• Complete, process, submit, and track prior authorizations.
• Initiates and assists patients with Medicaid, Medicare, and SSI/SSDI applications.
