Job summary

La Frontera EMPACT - Suicide Prevention Center in Tempe, AZ seeks an Eligibility Benefits Specialist with experience in outpatient behavioral health settings to verify insurance benefits and eligibility, assist with AHCCCS enrollment, and maintain patient demographics in the EHR. The role requires professionalism, empathy, and strong communication.

Under Site Administrator supervision, you will analyze benefit issues, coordinate with the clinic, and support billing and credentialing tasks.

Qualifications

• High School education (diploma) or GED.
• Minimum of two years direct AHCCCS application process experience.
• Experience assisting with state Medicaid insurance applications.
• HIPAA knowledge and confidentiality.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Verify clients' insurance benefits and eligibility to ensure coverage for services.
• Analyze benefit issues and recommend course of action.
• Assist clients with AHCCCS eligibility and enrollment.
• Update demographic information in the electronic health record and support clinic operations.
