Job summary

DLA Careers is seeking a Human Resources Specialist (Employee Benefits) to serve as a senior expert and trainer for comprehensive federal employee benefits programs, including retirement, health, life insurance, and the Thrift Savings Plan.

The role requires delivering advisory services to staff and management, developing training, and performing quality reviews of benefits transactions and retirement applications, ensuring compliance with CSRS and FERS rules.

Qualifications

• Specialized Experience: administering advisory services for the full range of federal employee benefits including retirement, health, life, and TSP.
• Conducting research and training on complex benefits issues and new legislation.
• Guidance to other specialists regarding benefits procedures; quality reviews of benefits transactions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior specialist and trainer for employee benefits programs.
• Provide advisory services to management and staff on complex benefits issues (CSRS, FERS, FEHB, FEGLI, TSP, FEDVIP).
• Develop and conduct benefits training for specialists and trainees.
• Perform quality reviews of benefits transactions and retirement paperwork.
