Charleston County Government is seeking a Benefits Specialist I to guide employees through health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement benefits. The role supports HR and retirees, ensuring accurate records and timely communication.

The position is onsite at Lonnie Hamilton III, 4045 Bridge View Dr., North Charleston, 8:30–5, Monday–Friday, with potential to report during emergencies. Open until filled; hourly pay range advertised.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; an Associate's degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of benefits-related experience.
• HR Generalist/Specialist experience preferred.
• Familiarity with benefits software, MS Office and SharePoint.

Responsabilités

• Answer questions about health, dental, life insurance, flex spending and retirement.
• Act as a bridge between employees, HR reps and providers to resolve issues.
• Maintain workflows, update records, run reports, and assist payroll adjustments.
