Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Full-time Benefits Specialist in Winona, MN to support US and International employee benefits with a focus on leave of absence administration. After onboarding, a flexible schedule may be offered.

Responsibilities include administering family, medical, and military leaves, guiding employees on policies, assisting with forms, preparing communications, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

OVERVIEW

Working as Full-time Benefits Specialist in our Human Resources department, you will perform entry level duties assisting with US and International employee benefits with a specific focus on leave of absence administration. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administering employee requests for family, medical and military leaves of absence by phone and email
• Providing guidance to employees regarding company policies and procedures
• Assisting employees with questions and completion of forms
• Preparing employee communication pieces
• Ensuring compliance with Federal, State and Local guidelines

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• 18 years of age or older
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
• Demonstrate strong organization, time management, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Possess or are working towards a degree in Human Resources or Business
• Prior experience using PeopleSoft HR systems
• Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to the position (FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, USERRA, COBRA, etc)
• Proficient in a second language

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this position is $40,000 - 45,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
