Job summary

The State of Florida's Division of Retirement in Tallahassee is hiring a Benefits Services Specialist I to provide frontline customer service to FRS members by phone, chat, and email. You will research complex retirement issues across multiple databases and communicate clearly with stakeholders.

This on-site role requires knowledge of Florida retirement laws, strong problem-solving, and the ability to multitask.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional experience in customer service, call center, retirement or related fields.
• Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn Florida retirement laws, rules, and Division policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by telephone and email to members, employers, and other stakeholders.
• Communicate information about retirement benefits, DROP and enrollment processes.
• Update home mailing addresses and handle requests for benefit documents and copies.
• Research and resolve complex retirement benefit questions using multiple databases.
• Transfer calls as needed and maintain courteous, accurate, and professional interactions.
