Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Benefits Administration & Retirement Operations Intern in Minneapolis, MN, to support retirement processing, benefits administration, reporting, and vendor coordination. You will gain hands-on experience with Workday, SAP, and other benefit systems while helping ensure accurate delivery of benefits to employees, retirees, and beneficiaries.

The internship runs with a May 24, 2027 start date and offers exposure to HR operations, retirement programs, process improvements,

Qualifications

• Current student, Sophomore or higher.
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in HR/Business.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours/week) or part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours/week).

Responsibilities

• Assist with benefit administration activities and review transactions.
• Perform weekly and monthly reporting and data validation for retirement/benefits programs.
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors on retirement/health/welfare processes.
• Assist with payroll, trust, and funding reconciliations and identify process improvements.
