Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a business-savy intern to support the IT Business Operations team, assisting back-office functions including financial planning & analysis, procurement and project intake. You will help with forecasting, budgeting and month-end reporting in a hybrid in-person setting.

The role offers hands-on experience in a major energy company, with opportunities to learn, grow and contribute to real-world metrics. Start date May 24, 2027; in-sport commute required.

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.

The role will support the IT Business Operations team, which is responsible for back office functions, including financial plannng & analysis (capital and opex), procurement, capital project in-take.

Typical intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

This position is for a May 24, 2027 start date. This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel Energy’s business needs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current student, Junior or higher

• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $18.20 to $19.50 per hour
