Job summary

Cogent Communications seeks a Benefits/Payroll Specialist to manage day-to-day benefits programs and support payroll and timekeeping using ADP Workforce Now. You’ll partner with HR leadership, payroll, brokers, and vendors to ensure accurate data and timely transactions.

The role emphasizes detail, analytical thinking, and independent problem solving, with a focus on benefits compliance and system optimization.

Qualifications

• Experience with benefits enrollment, eligibility changes, and open enrollment.
• Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS/payroll software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for data reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Administers health and welfare, retirement, wellness, and other employee benefit programs and processes enrollments, eligibility, and status changes.
• Manages ADP Benefits module data and ensures seamless payroll integration.
• Coordinates annual open enrollment and communicates with vendors and carriers.
• Audits and reconciles payroll and benefits data and investigates discrepancies.
• Supports audits, reporting, and compliance activities (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125).
• Provides onboarding/offboarding support and maintains benefits documentation.
