Southern Nazarene University is seeking a Benefits Manager to lead and oversee the university’s employee benefit programs. The role focuses on administering health, retirement plans, COBRA, leave programs, and data reconciliation while ensuring compliance and accurate reporting.

The position requires strong customer service, confidentiality, and the ability to work with vendors, carriers, and the HR team. This on-site role supports education professionals at the Bethany, OK campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in employee benefits, leave administration, retirement administration, or related HR experience.
• Experience administering employee benefit programs and providing benefits-related support to employees.
• Working knowledge of FMLA, COBRA, ACA, retirement plans, and other applicable benefits requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day administration of SNU’s benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA, and other applicable plans.
• Lead the annual open enrollment process, including planning, coordination with vendors and Payroll, system setup and testing, employee communications and education, enrollment processing, and post-enrollment reconciliation.
• Administer FMLA, short- and long-term disability, paid and unpaid leave, and other applicable leave programs.
• Oversee administration of 403(b) and 457(b) retirement plans in partnership with HR Director and vendors.
• Administer COBRA qualifying events, notices, elections, and premium records.
