Job summary

OnePoint BFG Wealth Partners in Parsippany, New Jersey, is seeking a Benefits Manager to design and oversee a comprehensive benefits program, including health, retirement, leave, and wellness initiatives. The role focuses on market-competitive offerings, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.

You will manage vendor relationships, lead annual enrollment, and communicate complex benefit designs to employees and advisor teams while leveraging data to optimize plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive benefits administration experience.
• Experience supporting a multi-state employee population.
• CEBS/CBP/SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee comprehensive benefits programs (health, retirement, leave, wellness).
• Ensure compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA and state/federal laws.
• Manage vendor relations with brokers, carriers and investment managers.
• Oversee annual open enrollment and develop employee communications.
• Analyze plan utilization and costs to improve programs.
• Serve as primary point of contact for complex benefit inquiries and claims.
• Lead benefit orientations and onboarding for new employees.

Position Overview

The Benefits Manager will serve as the benefits strategist and operational lead for OnePoint BFG total rewards and wellness initiatives. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive suite of employee benefit programs—including health plans, retirement (401k), leave policies, and wellness programs. Your primary goal is to ensure our offerings remain market-competitive to attract top talent, cost-effective for the organization's long-term health, and fully compliant with all state and federal regulations. This role requires a balance of analytical work to manage costs and data, alongside a people-first approach to advocate for and educate our people on their benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Design & Strategy: Researching and developing comprehensive benefits packages that align with OnePoint goals and employee needs.
• Compliance Management: Ensuring all programs adhere to federal and state laws, including COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA.
• Vendor Relations: Selecting and managing relationships with third-party brokers, insurance carriers, and investment managers to ensure quality service and cost efficiency.
• Open Enrollment: Leading the annual open enrollment process, including the creation of communication materials and conducting employee education sessions.
• Data Analysis: Monitoring plan utilization trends and costs to make data-driven recommendations for program improvements.
• Employee Advocacy: Serving as the primary point of contact for complex benefit inquiries and resolving claims-related issues.
• Leading Benefit Orientations: Serving as a dedicated resource to onboard and educate new employees, ensuring they are fully equipped to maximize the value of our benefits.

Qualifications and Skills

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) (e.g., Paylocity a Plus, UKG, ADP), advanced Microsoft Excel for data modeling.
• Analytical Thinking: Ability to evaluate complex insurance plan designs and perform cost-benefit analyses.
• Communication: Strong presentation skills for onboarding and educating employees and Advisor teams.
• Education: A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Experience: Five plus years of progressive experience in benefits administration, specifically supporting a multi-state employee population.
• CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist).
• CBP (Certified Benefits Professional).
• SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR *for broader HR
