Job summary

NOCD is seeking a Benefits & Leave Specialist to manage benefits administration and leave coordination for a nationwide workforce. You will partner with our broker, payroll, and third-party leave administrator to ensure accurate enrollment, eligibility, and compliant handling of life events.

The role emphasizes data accuracy, process optimization, and a people-first approach in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment. Remote/hybrid options are available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in benefits and/or leave administration
• Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PWFA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA
• Experience with HRIS and benefits systems
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• People-first mindset and strong communication
• Experience supporting a remote, multi-state workforce (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Administer NOCD's benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA, voluntary benefits)
• Serve as People Operations partner for benefits enrollment, eligibility, and life events
• Collaborate with broker and payroll on enrollment strategy and education
• Coordinate with benefits advisor on coverage questions and claims
• Process enrollments, life events, and status changes; maintain HRIS records
• Work with payroll and vendors to ensure eligible benefits are received
• Maintain benefits communications, compliance, and documentation
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve processes
• Manage the leave experience with the third-party administrator (FMLA, ADA, PWFA, etc.)
• Coordinate leave and accommodations and return-to-work processes
• Serve as primary internal contact for leave/accommodation; ensure compliance
• Maintain leave records and compliance with federal/state laws
• Suggest process improvements to enhance the employee experience
