Stony Brook University is seeking a Benefits & Leave Administrator Specialist to handle benefit plan administration across various StaffCo Entities. The role includes onboarding new employees, coordinating the Annual Open Enrollment process, and managing leave of absences while adhering to policy.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s in Human Resources and at least 3 years of experience in benefits and leave administration. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are required for this position.
The StaffCo Benefits & Leave Administration Specialist is responsible for all benefit plan administration including union and non-union plans across all StaffCo Entities under the direction of the StaffCo Human Resource Systems Manager. The selected candidate will perform duties and carry out responsibilities specific to leave and benefits administration, account management, renewal, compliance and general account administration functions for union and non-union hospital and administrative staff. The StaffCo Benefits & Leave Administration Specialist will work in cooperation with Site Human Resource Staff, employee health, union representatives, both Payroll and the Finance departments.
The selected candidate should be open to working out of multiple StaffCo locations including but not limited to Stony Brook, Lake Grove, Hampton Bays, Southampton, and Greenport.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day. Any additional physical demands will be outlined and provided by management.
