USVETS Barbers Point in Kapolei, HI is seeking an Income & Benefits Specialist to support clients through benefits enrollment and income resources, coordinating with SSA, VA, and state programs to secure mainstream benefits.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, and at least one year of experience in social services. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills are essential; travel up to 25% is expected.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field preferred; two years of experience may substitute for a degree.
• Minimum one year of experience in social services or related field required.
• Knowledge of benefit enrollment processes (VA and civilian benefits) desirable.
• SOAR training preferred or must be able to complete within 30 days of hire.

Mansioni

• Provide income and benefits services to clients and connect to resources.
• Screen for eligibility, schedule appointments, and assist with benefits enrollment.
• Develop initial budgets and monthly updates for clients enrolled.
• Coordinate with agencies to secure SSA/VA/state benefits.
• Offer budgeting and benefits resource classes to clients.
• Maintain client databases and document services with case management.
