Job summary

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is seeking a Benefits Documentation Analyst to interpret and document benefit and account information used by internal teams for accurate service delivery and downstream system readiness.

The role involves off-site client meetings to discuss changes, collaboration with Benefit Coding and CPL/PIBA teams, 30-day post-implementation support, and training of service staff to ensure smooth transitions and ongoing accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or 5 years of equivalent health benefits experience.
• Minimum 5 years of benefit experience.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to interact with senior level individuals.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and documents benefit and client information for service to clients.
• Conducts off-site client meetings to review benefit documentation and validate changes.
• Coordinates internal review to ensure accurate interpretation of benefit paperwork.
• Reviews designs in new business proposals and develops counter recommendations for benefits not administered.
• Ensures benefit coding is finalized and loaded into production after testing.
• Maintains corporate databases to facilitate auditing.
• Oversees complete implementation of new accounts and troubleshoots enrollment/claims/billing issues for the first 30 days.
• Builds strong relationships with Account Management and internal departments to facilitate implementation of benefit changes.
• Prepares training materials and conducts on-site training.
