POSITION SUMMARY:Furthering the Human Resources (HR) mission of enabling strategy, shaping behaviors and driving results, the Benefits & HR Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Benefits and HR teams, with a primary focus on benefits, leave administration, reporting, and HR support. The position assists with time-sensitive HR and benefits processes, maintains accurate records, coordinates communications and follow-up, and supports day-to-day benefits activities and associate engagement initiatives.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provides overall administrative support to the Human Resources department, including maintaining, processing, organizing, and documenting associate and benefits records.Serves as a point of contact for associates by responding to routine HR and benefits questions and routing more complex matters to the appropriate HR team member.Assists with benefits eligibility, enrollment, changes, open enrollment, and other benefits administration activities, including coordination with benefit vendors and third-party administrators.Supports Affordable Care Act (ACA) administration by monitoring HRIS information, assisting with measurement, administrative and stability period processes, and helping review schedule or hour changes that may affect benefit eligibility.Runs and reviews recurring HRIS and benefits reports on a regular basis; identifies discrepancies, follows up on missing or inconsistent information, and supports data corrections and annual audits.Assists with the administration of FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other federal and state leave programs by coordinating initial communications, documentation, tracking, follow-up, and status updates.Maintains accurate leave and accommodation records, calendars, spreadsheets, and HRIS information, including deadlines, reassessment dates, return-to-work dates, and outstanding documentation.Prepares routine leave, accommodation, benefits, and other HR correspondence and supporting documentation using established templates and procedures.Assists with administration of benefit premiums and benefits-related processes for associates on leave, including tracking and follow-up as directed.Coordinates with associates, managers, HR team members, benefit vendors, and third-party administrators to support timely completion of HR and benefits processes.Assists with employee engagement and culture-building activities, including recognition programs, holiday events, picnics, wellness activities, raffles, anniversary awards, and other company-sponsored events.Supports CCS Reward and Recognition programs, including administrative coordination, communications, tracking, and distribution of awards or materials.Prepares materials and reports for organizational and departmental initiatives by compiling data and assisting with statistical and recurring reporting.Ensures timely execution of recurring HR administrative processes, including regular HRIS reporting, employment verifications, years-of-service awards, record maintenance, office supply coordination, and other assigned activities.Assists with new hire orientation and onboarding documentation, including employment/reference checks, education verifications, background check or drug-testing coordination, and other pre-employment activities as needed.Provides administrative support for HR projects, employee communications, benefits open enrollment, company-wide meetings, and department initiatives.Works closely with HR Business Partners and other HR team members to support broader initiatives, employee relations processes, and department projects.Maintains knowledge of company policies, practices, and procedures and performs assigned duties in accordance with established guidelines and applicable requirements.Demonstrates strict confidentiality, professionalism, and sound judgment when handling employee information and HR matters.Performs general administrative duties such as filing, scanning, mailing, email correspondence, preparing folders or materials, and maintaining electronic and paper records.Performs other HR administrative duties and special projects as assigned.Ability to work with various HR systems, including HRIS, benefits websites, leave-management systems, Microsoft Office applications, and related tools.Ability to maintain consistent and regular attendance in accordance with an established schedule.Ability to work onsite/in-office in accordance with CCS and department policies and procedures.QUALIFICATIONS:1 to 3 years of experience in an administrative, Human Resources, benefits, leave administration, or related role.Experience supporting benefits, leave, HRIS, or HR administrative processes preferred.Working knowledge of employee benefits, FMLA, ADA, ACA, and/or state leave administration preferred; ability and willingness to learn applicable procedures and requirements is essential.Experience running reports, maintaining spreadsheets, auditing data, and tracking deadlines or recurring processes.High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow-up activities simultaneously.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.Strict adherence to confidentiality and high ethical standards.Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills at an intermediate level.Receptive to coaching and feedback, willing to learn, committed to continuous improvement, and responsive to change.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalent required.Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
