Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, human resources or related field.
• One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
• Requires two years of HR generalist experience in employee benefits administration, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement and/or other benefit programs.

Responsibilities

• Advises and provides assistance in all functional areas of Human Resources.
• Works under supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
• Provides advisement and customer service to internal/external clients including policy questions and referrals.
• Researches policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and CBAs; manages vacancies, prescreens, interviews, and onboarding.
• Assists with counseling, disciplines, grievances, and labor contract negotiations; supports performance management and FMLA processes.
• Performs salary reviews, salary surveys, and reclassifications; advises on county policies and collective bargaining agreements.
• Guides employees on HR matters to minimize liability and improve outcomes; delivers HR training as needed.
• Works on special projects to promote best practices and HR goals; maintains HR processes and documentation.
