First Financial Group of America is seeking a Benefits Assistant in Columbia, SC, working with Richland County School District One. The role supports enrollment processing for new hires, presents information at annual enrollments, and collaborates with our third-party administrator to ensure benefits are accurate and timely.

The position involves preparing materials, assisting with ACA reporting, and providing responsive benefits support to staff.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent telephone skills.
Minimum 2 years of public school and/or corporate administrative experience.
Minimum 2 years of benefits customer service experience.
Group 1 Life & Health license or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

Organize and oversee all aspects of the benefits enrollment process for new hires throughout the year.
Organize and present information at annual enrollment meetings.
Monitor preparation, printing, and maintenance of insurance information materials.
Assist with preparing benefits materials, including the benefits booklet.
Collaborate with FFGA departments to distribute electronic benefits notifications to all employees.
Help prepare bid specifications.
Assist with ACA reporting.
Coordinate with Billing Specialist on benefits bill reconciliation.
Provide assistance in meetings, by phone, email, or other means to employees with benefits questions.
Perform other duties as assigned by department administration.
