Job summary

NorthWest Senior and Disability Services (NWSDS) seeks an Eligibility Specialist to determine eligibility for financial, medical, and SNAP benefits and support ongoing enrollment for older adults and people with disabilities.

You will interview and verify information, maintain records, and coordinate with community partners to ensure accurate benefits access. The role requires strong communication and confidentiality, with a focus on respectful, language-appropriate service.

Qualifications

• Interpreting and applying program rules or policies.
• Strong organizational skills to manage high volume work.
• Effective communication with consumers, coworkers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Interview individuals by phone or in person to determine eligibility for benefits.
• Review applications and verify documentation to apply program rules.
• Maintain consumer records and process forms and changes timely.
• Conduct annual eligibility reviews and communicate requirements.
• Coordinate with DHS, Oregon Health Authority, and other partners.
