Job summary

NorthPoint is seeking a Benefits Concierge Specialist to join our Human Resources team in Kansas City. The role serves as the primary resource for employee benefits questions and coordinates with carriers and vendors to ensure accurate benefits administration.

You will guide open enrollment, onboarding, and ongoing education, while reconciling invoices and maintaining compliance. An empathetic, detail-oriented professional with 5+ years of benefits experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in employee benefits, benefits administration, HR, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of group health and welfare plans and applicable regulations (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, Section 125).
• Experience with benefits billing reconciliation and vendor management.
• Proficient in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office.
• Discreet with confidential and sensitive employee information.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the go-to resource for employee benefits questions, providing high-touch, 1:1 concierge guidance across medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, life, disability, retirement, and voluntary benefits
• Help employees navigate the tough stuff — claims issues, provider searches, prior authorizations, appeals, and coordination of benefits
• Own benefits communications, including new hire onboarding, open enrollment campaigns, life event guidance, and ongoing education
• Partner with carriers and vendors to resolve escalated employee issues
• Support open enrollment planning, meetings, and post-enrollment follow-up
• Reconcile and process monthly benefits invoices across carriers and vendors
• Audit enrollment data, payroll deductions, and carrier eligibility files for accuracy
• Manage life event changes, new hire enrollments, and terminations in HRIS and carrier portals
• Maintain benefits records, documentation, and a compliance calendar
• Ensure timely distribution of required notices and plan documents (SPDs, SBCs, SMMs, HIPAA, COBRA, WRAP, Medicare Part D, SAR)
• Support annual compliance activities including ACA (1094/1095) reporting, PCORI, and CMS filings
• Partner with our brokerage on the Form 5500 filing, providing data and documentation as needed
• Support COBRA administration and coordinate with third-party administrators
• Stay current on federal and state regulatory changes affecting group health and welfare plans
