Job summary

Ameren Services (B&CS) seeks a Benefits Compliance and Legal Analyst to provide legal and compliance support for employee benefit plans, including plan documentation, regulatory filings, vendor agreements, fiduciary governance, and stakeholder guidance.

The role monitors benefits laws, identifies compliance risks, and supports proactive recommendations to ensure effective plan administration. Collaboration with actuaries, attorneys, and HR is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; minimum five years of relevant experience, ten years preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills, and thorough drafting abilities.
• Experience with ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, fiduciary governance, Form 5500, welfare and retirement plans, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal and compliance analysis for employee benefit plans.
• Prepare and maintain plan amendments, SPDs, notices, and related communications; assist with Form 5500 filings.
• Coordinate with actuaries, attorneys, accountants and HR on plan governance and filings.
• Monitor regulatory changes and provide recommendations; prepare memoranda and guidance documents.
• Develop and deliver training for internal stakeholders and plan committees.
• Review vendor work and recommendations for accuracy and completeness.
