Job summary

Group 1 Automotive, Inc. is seeking a Benefits Specialist to support day-to-day administration of employee benefits across our corporate People Operations team.

You will handle eligibility, enrollment, and issue resolution while ensuring accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of benefits experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with Payroll, HRIS, and vendors in a fast-paced, multi-location organization.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of hands-on employee benefits administration experience.
• Demonstrated experience with general health and welfare benefits administration, including employee enrollment and eligibility.
• Hands-on experience supporting annual Open Enrollment.
• Experience performing benefits testing and validating enrollment or system changes.
• Experience processing Qualified Medical Child Support Orders (QMCSOs).
• Experience communicating directly with employees and explaining benefits information clearly.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Benefits Administration & Employee Support: Serve as a primary resource for eligibility, enrollment, coverage, and general benefit questions.
• Open Enrollment & Benefits Testing: Support all phases of Open Enrollment and conduct benefits testing.
• Issue Resolution, Audits & Data Analysis: Review reports, resolve enrollment errors, and audit data across systems.
• Process Development & Continuous Improvement: Identify automation opportunities and support system testing and projects.
• Cross-Functional & Vendor Partnership: Coordinate with Payroll, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues.
