We’re looking for an experienced Benefits Analyst to join an organization a contract basis to help support benefits operations during a critical transition period. This is a chance to step into a fast-paced benefits team at a pivotal time, with immediate impact during open enrollment and beyond.

The right candidate will not only manage operations but also help identify ways to improve processes and enhance employee engagement. This role will provide hands-on support for a large-scale benefits function covering more than 5k benefits eligible employees, including union populations. You’ll work closely with leadership and external partners to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, compliance, and employee support, especially through the upcoming open enrollment period.

Responsibilities:

Administer and implement company benefit programs
Partner on annual open enrollment planning and execution
Draft and distribute benefits communications to employees
Partner with Mercer (3rd-party vendor) on file feeds, compliance, and reporting
Assist with open enrollment processing, issue resolution, and communications
Generate, review, and distribute vendor reports (HSA/FSA, 401k, etc.)
Respond to employee benefits inquiries and troubleshoot escalated issues
Maintain benefits data in HRIS (UKG) and ensure accuracy across systems
Provide analytical support on plan performance, cost trends, and process improvements
Contribute to employee engagement initiatives related to benefits and wellness

Required Qualifications:

3-5+ years of experience in benefits administration or benefits analysis
Strong knowledge of health and welfare plans, 401(k), compliance requirements
Proficiency in HRIS/Payroll systems (UKG preferred, but not required)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills
Ability to work independently and “hit the ground running”
Excellent communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
