Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Benefits Analyst to support day-to-day administration of the Company’s benefit plans, researching and evaluating plans to meet organizational strategy. You will liaison with internal and external stakeholders on financial reporting, program implementation, compliance, and systems issues.

You will assist with open enrollment, implementations, and coordinate with third party vendors and HR Systems to ensure data accuracy and timely data transfer.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience related to benefit plan administration, finance, or HR Systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and relational databases.
  • Excellent analytical and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships by demonstrated competence in customer service skills and professional telephone demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares benefits information using Excel, Workday and other benefits systems to compile metrics and statistical/census data and reports.
  • Exports data in Excel, efficiently utilize Pivot Tables and V-Lookups to audit and review enrollments and other benefit-related projects.
  • Serves as first-line contact for vendor invoicing.
  • Works closely with the Finance Department and internal reporting groups for budgeting, and any other related processes and procedures for benefit programs.
  • Reviews vendor billing for accuracy and works with vendors to ensure timely adjustments when applicable.
  • Maintains and regularly audits benefit enrollment/payroll records to ensure accuracy of premium deductions and adjusts payments accordingly to ensure appropriate payment of premiums.
  • Develops and implements ideas to increase efficiency of processes where possible.
  • Assists with monthly/annual health and wellness budget data management in coordination with Consultant and internal management.
  • Conducts detailed research and data analysis on various plan issues and employee issues.
  • Maintains relationships with vendors and internal partners to ensure their level of service is delivered to the Company’s expectations.
  • Assists with merger and acquisition benefit reporting including cost impact analysis and other analysis requirements as needed.

Job description

The Benefits Analyst at Republic Services is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of the Company’s benefit plans. The position will research, analyze, and evaluate benefit plans and programs to meet the organization's strategy. They will also serve as a liaison to both internal and external stakeholders for financial reporting, program implementation, compliance, and technical systems issues and discussions.

About the Role

Assists with open enrollment, implementations, and other projects as needed. Works closely and in conjunction with third party vendors and HR Systems to identify system requirements to ensure compatibility and functionality and ensures that all electronic files are sent to vendors with accurate data and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares benefits information using Excel, Workday and other benefits systems to compile metrics and statistical/census data and reports, using standard and/or ad hoc reporting to provide information for decision making to actuaries, auditors, insurance carriers, and management.
  • Exports data in Excel, efficiently utilize Pivot Tables and V-Lookups to audit and review enrollments and other benefit-related projects.
  • Serves as first-line contact for vendor invoicing.
  • Works closely with the Finance Department and internal reporting groups for budgeting, and any other related processes and procedures for benefit programs.

  • Assists with merger and acquisition benefit reporting including cost impact analysis and other analysis requirements as needed.
Qualifications
  • Strong business and financial acumen, solid organizational and multi-tasking skills, and superb technical skills in Benefits and HR Systems, coupled with exceptional quantitative and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and relational databases.
  • Excellent analytical and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships by demonstrated competence in customer service skills and professional telephone demeanor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team to meet common goals.
  • Workday experience is a plus.
  • Benefits certification such as CBP, CEBS, ASPPA a plus.
Required Skills
  • 3-5+ years of experience related to benefit plan administration, finance, or HR Systems.
Preferred Skills
  • This position will be 4 days per week in office and 1 day per week remote.
  • Our office is located near the 101 and 51 freeway interchange, near Desert Ridge Mall area.
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship or transfer assistance.
