Job summary

National Oilwell Varco is seeking a motivated Benefits Administrator to support the U.S. benefit and retirement programs, including 401(k) and health plans.

You will assist with day-to-day operations, enrollments, audits, and inquiries, ensuring compliance and strong customer service. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, 2–5 years of benefit experience, and solid Excel skills (VLOOKUP and pivot tables).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • 2-5 years benefit experience preferred.
  • Intermediate Excel skills – must have experience with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to plan and prioritize work activities and multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising sound judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and superior attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and oral skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and management.
  • CEBS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of the day-to-day operation for the U.S. benefit and retirement programs, including 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, prescription, life, disability, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, and all other voluntary benefit plans in accordance with plan documents and established procedures.
  • Complete audits of benefit plans and retirement plans as required for compliance.
  • Assist in all phases of annual enrollment including communications, administration set up, testing, processing, and audits.
  • Serve as point of contact for benefit and retirement plan inquiries and issues.
  • Review, analyze and resolve interface file errors.
  • Maintain knowledge of government regulations to ensure compliance in administration of all plans.
  • Assist with the ongoing communication and education strategy related to all plans.
  • Foster and maintain relationships of exceptional customer service with clients, stakeholders, and end users.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.
