Job summary

The AFX Group invites applications for a Benefits Advisor to support transitioning military personnel at Fort Bliss, TX. This full-time, onsite role focuses on workshops and one-on-one engagements to explain VA benefits and assist with claims and applications.

Ideal candidates have 3 years of training or HR experience, prefer military workshop delivery, and demonstrate excellent communication; willingness to travel up to 50% and complete required training.

Qualifications

• 3 years equivalent work/military experience in Training, Education, Career Counseling, or HR.
• Bachelor's degree may be substituted for work/military experience.
• Experience delivering workshops to military audiences preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read government forms and understand benefits.
• Ability to pass a background check and travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-hour and one-day briefings on critical benefits for transitioning service members.
• Set up and break down briefing rooms and prepare materials and equipment.
• Facilitate individualized discussions and assist with benefit applications.
• Refer service members to contacts and help connect to services.
• Attend required program trainings and complete documentation.
• Travel to other military bases to deliver workshops as needed.
