Job summary

The City of Winchester, Virginia Local Government is seeking an eligibility-focused professional to assist residents with government assistance programs. The role involves completing state trainings, interviewing applicants, and determining initial eligibility based on policy and documentation.

Responsibilities include maintaining caseloads, explaining benefits, and referring clients to relevant resources while upholding municipal guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Willingness to participate in state training including Medicaid and SNAP.
• Bilingual Spanish-English preferred.

• Engages client in a positive working relationship
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED is required. An Associates degree in social sciences or a related field is preferred
• Valid driver's license
• Bilingual Spanish- English is preferred
• Willing to participate in mandatory state training including Medicaid and SNAP
