The MO HealthNet Division has an opening for a Benefit Program Specialist within the Provider Enrollment Unit located in Cole County. Semi-monthly salary: The current rate for this position is $1,629.51. Individual(s) selected for this position may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential (e.g. shift, or time-of-service pay). Annual Salary: $39,108.16 Job Posting Number: 4018 8310021 Job Location: This position is located at the Howerton State Office Building; 615 Howerton Court, Jefferson City, MO. This position plays a vital role in supporting MO HealthNet by ensuring that qualified healthcare providers are properly enrolled and available to serve program participants. You will contribute directly to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of the provider network. You will regularly handle non‑routine inquiries and requests from providers, internal partners, and external agencies, requiring strong analytical and communication skills. What You’ll Do
  • Review, evaluate, and process new, re-enrolling, and revalidating provider applications to ensure full compliance with federal and state regulations governing MO HealthNet participation.
  • Enter, verify, and maintain accurate provider data within multiple online information systems, ensuring completeness and consistency across all records.
  • Communicate professionally with providers through email, written correspondence, and phone contact to clarify requirements, request additional information, and provide guidance on enrollment processes.
  • Locate, analyze, and authenticate background documentation found in existing enrollment files, electronic repositories, and supplemental materials submitted with applications.
  • Research and interpret complex correspondence from providers or other entities, determine what additional documentation or clarification is required, and clearly articulate those needs in follow‑up communication.
  • Process and validate updates to provider records, including changes to addresses, tax identification numbers, ownership structures, legal names, and other critical information affecting enrollment status.
  • Maintain strict adherence to confidentiality, accuracy, and regulatory standards while managing a high volume of detailed work.
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)

Preferred Qualifications

Attention to detail is essential. Clear, accurate, written and verbal communication is important, along with a desire to provide excellent customer service. Experience with eMMIS, Microsoft Office, and data entry a bonus. Must be able to work in a team setting with positivity and a professional demeanor.
