Job summary

The Oregon Department of Transportation seeks a Striping/Highway Maintenance Specialist (Split Position) for Bend, Oregon. This limited-duration role will rotate between the Bend striping and highway maintenance crews, performing roadway striping, repair work, and emergency response as needed.

You will operate heavy and light equipment, assist with weather-related events, and support safety-focused maintenance across roadways and bridges.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing basic highway maintenance work.
• CDL-A with tanker endorsement preferred or willingness to obtain within 60 days (training costs covered).
• Experience working on a team and prioritizing safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy and light equipment to maintain and replace roadway striping and legends.
• Assist with weather-related emergencies and operate snowplows and de-icer trucks.
• Maintain and repair roadways and highways and perform routine tool maintenance.
