Belfair, a premier private golf community located in Bluffton, SC, is pleased to announce a Full-Time Greenskeeper opportunity. As part of the Troon-managed property, you will help maintain the beauty, playability, and conditioning of our championship courses and grounds, delivering a first-class experience for members and guests.

This role offers an hourly rate of $17.50-$19.50 based on experience, early-morning schedules, comprehensive benefits after hire, and a collaborative, safety‑focused

Qualifications

• Experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping preferred.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Able to work outdoors in heat, humidity, and early mornings.
• Willing to learn agronomy and turf equipment operation.
• Reliable transportation and attendance required.
• Team-oriented with strong communication.
• Safe operation of turf maintenance equipment (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Maintain greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers and surrounding landscaping.
• Mow, edge, trim, rake, and remove debris.
• Assist irrigation system operation and water distribution monitoring.
• Support agronomic practices such as aeration and overseeding.
• Ensure bunkers are groomed and shaped for playability.
• Safely operate turf maintenance equipment.
• Identify and report turf or course issues.
• Follow safety procedures and contribute to a safe workplace.
• Participate in daily team assignments and course setup.
• Maintain early-morning schedule reliability.

Position Overview

As a Greenskeeper at Belfair, you will play a vital role in maintaining the beauty, playability, and overall conditioning of our championship golf courses. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of golf course maintenance tasks to ensure pristine playing conditions and a first-class experience for our members and guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain playing surfaces (greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers) and surrounding landscaping
• Mow, edge, trim, rake, and remove debris across assigned areas
• Assist with irrigation system operation, repair, and water distribution monitoring
• Support seasonal agronomic practices (aeration, topdressing, fertilization, overseeding)
• Ensure bunkers are groomed, raked, and shaped for playability and aesthetics
• Safely operate and maintain turf maintenance equipment
• Identify and report turf, irrigation, or course condition issues to supervision
• Follow safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment
• Participate in daily team assignments and course setup as directed
• Maintain consistent attendance and reliability for early morning schedules

Qualifications

• Prior experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, or groundskeeping preferred
• Strong work ethic with attention to detail and pride in course presentation
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and early mornings
• Willingness to learn agronomy practices and turf equipment operation
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required
• Ability to safely operate turf maintenance equipment (training provided as needed)
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
• Ability to follow direction and work efficiently in a fast-paced outdoor environment
