Brief Description
Responsible for the provision of direct one to one and or group/class behavioral intervention to teach communication, social and daily living skills and reduce problematic behaviors in the home, community and school settings. Behavior technicians will utilize interventions developed out of the science of Applied Behavior Analysis and will be supervised by an experienced BCBA/ School Psychologist or other school based professional administration.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group/ classroom settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training
- Follow the behavioral plan developed by BCBA supervisor/ IEP and/or school psychologist.
- Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior in manner required.
- Utilize safe & appropriate handing procedures when working with clients
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment
- Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, and co-workers.
- Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings
- Collects data on all programming and writes progress notes
- Adheres to Agency standards and consistently interprets and accurately performs all assigned responsibilities.
- Maintains acceptable attendance status, per Agency policy
- Attends all staff meetings and patient care conferences as scheduled
- Responsible timely travel to homes and or throughout community, as needed.
- Follow school district and agency regulations in the setting assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE
Formal education required:
Associate's degree AND one year of supervised experience working with children ages 2-21 on the Autism Spectrum
Previous Experience Required:
Experience implementing home based and community ABA programs preferred
Registered Behavior Technician Certification preferred
